F.A.K.K2: So the media takes another stab at Body Modification →

Today Tonight/7News have yet again pinned up another business owner as a monster and this time not for their usual “dodgy buildling or “money scams” but this time their target was professional body modification artist, Luna Cobra aka Howie.

In this video they demonise Cobra and paint this picture of non experience, lack of knowledge, back yard methods and no safety in general when in fact, what they are trying to state is more than wrong and heavily misinformed.
They track down one, yes only one, client of Luna Cobra’s who procedure didn’t pan out as planned, but not because Cobra is a backyard Doctor, but in actual fact, the client ended up with an infection and by the sounds of it, didn’t follow up with Doctor visits and anti-biotics.
We all already know that no matter how clean a studio is and how much care the practioner and client take in the procedure and aftercare there is always going to be a risk on infection and it’s the clients job to take first action.
Did they bother to interview anyone who has had successful procedures by Luna Cobra, no? Why? Because this segment was designed to slander him and the modified community.
You may notice that they state at the end even if it goes right, it looks a little wrong…well this is just unacceptable and sends a message out to people letting them know that it is okay about pointing out, talking down and abusing those of the modified community just because of that, being modified.
There is already enough hate towards the modified, enough people staring, talking about you to their friends while you try to eat lunch in a food court, enough parents teaching this hate to their children.
Today Tonight/7News are nothing but a bunch of media bullies!

Its a true bummer to me that my profession has ruined so many of my friendships. I have people i considered best friends at one point or another in my life that can no longer be considered anything more than an enemy due to the competitive nature of the industry. I just want to say to my fellow friends who are tattooers or ones that I might call friends later on, Dont ever let tattooing get in the way of a friendship, dont let your competitive instincts or jealously over sharing a client get the best of you, losing friends for stupid reasons is never worth a little money.
